208- Limit
208- Limit
Dian waited and soon, he found out that the teams that did the trial soon reached their limit. As for the decision the teams ultimately took, Dian already had an answer in mind. Then he returned to the chamber with Franco.
“Are you thinking that the teams you have sent have reached the limit?” Franco asked.
Dian nodded but was still walking as he reached the chamber.
Soon, a towering light pillar appeared, and both teams appeared one after another.
“Hmm, we have returned to this place safely. It is a good decision to hold off challenging the higher floor.” Tatsumi put his finger on his forehead and ruminated on everything the team and he had experienced.
“A pity we just need to complete the last part but it turns out to be the things we lack.” Charlene sighed helplessly.
“Welcome back, everyone.” Dian welcomed them with a satisfied smile.
“Ah, Father God.” Tatsumi greeted him back.
“How’s the trial you have undergone so far?” Dian asked.
“Well, it tests one thing before testing our comprehensive strength.” Tatsumi replied without hesitation.
He had experienced it himself, so he had a say in it.
Then Dian turned his head to Charlene. Charlene nodded and then opened her mouth.
“We are actually making weapons as well as useful devices for civilization.”
Dian paused for a moment, thinking that the thing the team had to make had to be something that could change the way of living for civilization. He had often seen this with his civilization so he knew the difficulties involved.
“It’s been hard on you all.” Dian said after sighing.
“Although it was hard, it is rewarding at the same time.” Tatsumi said seriously.
He could even find the flaws in his newly created formation and modify it to make sure that there were as few flaws as possible.
Charlene nodded in agreement, as did everyone else. They all felt that the trial truly tested their limits numerous times.
“You have also received a benefit from undergoing such trial.” Dian noticed that the transcendent energy of both teams seemed to change from before. The team that had undergone Tower Trial became stronger and their transcendent energy became more abundant and thicker.
While the team that had undergone the Abyss Trial had their recovery increased by at least 50%. That was with his current knowledge. If Dian had to guess, that was due to something like a Transcendent Technique.
Even so, he had to admit that the teams had tried their best and now was the time to take a rest and digest the gains from the trials.
“After all of this, will you send us back?” Tatsumi realized that this trial affected the civilization’s standing in the world of the vast Universe Field. This was the world where Dian acted personally which made him understand that this place was not for people of low standing like him for long.
That was why Tatsumi asked.
Dian looked at Tatsumi and understood his feelings and thoughts.
“Yes. When you are strong enough, you will also have a standing in this place.” Dian said with a hopeful but helpless tone.
Strength was the foundation of everything after all. Dian understood this better than anyone since he saw his own race and civilization gain strength not only to protect but also to execute.
“So for now, we have to return.” Charlene said.
“Yes. We don’t want to burden the Father God, right?” Tatsumi laughed.
“Well, then. Please stay in your position. I will return you to your previous place.” Dian exclaimed.
Then everyone stood still while Dian tried to connect back to his Planet Master Space. After doing so successfully, he sent them back to their previous position on the Cerulean Planet.
The brilliant pillar of light engulfed them and then they returned to their position.
“I need to return too.” Dian said to Franco.
“Well, looks like this is a farewell for now.” Franco let out a slightly bitter smile.
“Thank you, for guiding me.” Dian said before he left the chamber toward the exit.
Franco just stared at where Dian went; he did not move and his eyes only reflected the human Planet Master.

Dian then returned to his Planet Master Space.
“Let’s reinforce the space of our planets.” Dian suggested.
“Do we have enough energy points for that?” Frie asked.
Dian then swept the system panel toward Frie so that she could see the number of energy points he had.
“This is…” Frie was shocked. The only conclusion she could draw was that the requirement for Dian to advance to the Fourth Rank Planet Master rewarded Dian with a huge number of energy points.
“You made a fortune without telling us?” Frie felt that Dian kept some things from them.
Dian realized what was going on but he replied, “I was just a bit late in telling you guys since I also have something to do first.”
“You are helpless. Helpless, I tell you.” Leif said while facepalming.
“Well, with the numbers of energy points we possess, we can turn all our life planets to a reinforced space where transcendent can unleash their power.” Frie nodded and then executed it immediately.
The Planet Spirits of each life planet coordinated with the set of orders that came from Frie. Then the transcendents felt that their power was not enough to cause massive damage to the environment and wondered what was going on.
Then the formal news of the entire civilization reported that the change of the life planets was due to the interference of the Father God and the deities.
Dian felt a bit of the energy points were gone. But compared to what he had, it was just a drop of water from the bucket.
The space of the planet was reinforced and the effect of the transcendent releasing their power was limited.
“Alright. That is a good deed done well.” Dian commented on the result.
“But we have more pressing issues.” Dian added.
Everyone sighed. It was actually the most obvious problem they had faced. The civilization had reached a limit where the technological prowess was not enough for the current Planet Master Rank.
A Fourth Rank Planet Master should have at least a T4 Technological Tree or T4 equivalent Transcendent Prowess.
Dian, however, was behind in the Technology Tree, so he needed to pause other things to focus the civilization on developing more diverse technology.
“It’s about the Technology Tree, right?” Chikara stated.
Dian looked at her and involuntarily nodded.
“Right. Because we have cleared the requirement so fast, the Technology Tree becomes the one which left behind. The Transcendent Tree is growing well despite the quick promotion and soon will be at the T3 middle and late stage Transcendent Tree from the perspective of the human Transcendent Tree.
“Therefore, we need some time to let the technology develop well enough that everyone will feel the change.” Dian said.
“It means showing the civilization the place where resources can be gained as well as a place to live.” Frie said.
“While we do that, we need to wait for them to naturally reach the T4 Technology Tree.” Leif added.
Dian then looked at everyone and then put the back of his hand on his chin.
“Do everyone agree on this general plan?” Dian asked.
“We agreed.” Everyone agreed since this was the way for them to cover for their weaknesses. They also needed to delve into trade with other planets since all of them were self-sufficient and needed other materials from other places.
-
Year Four Hundred of the Father God Calendar.
Seventy years had passed, and the Hinon Federation had become an interstellar civilization. At least, that was what Dian and the others assessed.
The technology tree that was left behind was slowly catching up with the current needs of mass-produced but high-quality items. From the most mundane consumables to the grand spaceships, the products may vary, but all of them had a similarity: they were mass-produced, cheap but of good quality.
Dian was watching not his civilization but the wilderness of the Cerulean Planet where the beasts and plants affected by the transcendent energy were staying.
As a Planet Master, his responsibilities lie not just in the civilization that appeared but also in the environment of the entire planet itself.
Sovereign Beasts and Thearch Nymph were succeeding each other. But with each successor, the disagreement between them became wider and formed a world war of Sovereign and Thearch.
Their war was very direct, strength against strength and all sorts of tricks were deployed. This caused the ecosystem to be greatly affected and Dian sighed.
The land Sovereign Beast and the Thearch Nymph were destroying their surroundings during their battles because they were the strongest in their area. When they met, they went into battle quickly to establish dominance.
The issue was that their strength was roughly equal, so it became a long, drawn-out battle of attrition. Sovereign Beast, Thearch Nymph, and all the higher-ups were fighting for hegemony.
“They are fighting so happily that they forgot about the conservation of the very nature that they want to protect.” Dian commented.
Seeing the fight reach a large area and the destruction become more apparent with each passing time, Dian could not sit still anymore.
“Planet Spirit.” Dian summoned the Planet Spirit of the Cerulean Planet.
“Master!” The Planet Spirit appeared in the Planet Master Space immediately upon receiving Dian’s summon.
“Do you know that there is apparent destruction upon the land and the sea?” Dian asked.
The Planet Spirit then became dazed for a moment. This process was actually the Planet Spirit viewing the entire planet and its overall situation.
Then, with worry, the Planet Spirit replied, “I just confirmed it, Master. There are damages to the environment of the Cerulean Planet due to the movement of the Sovereign Beast and the Thearch Nymph.
“They are currently fighting to become the most authoritative figure among them since they cannot accept the current situation. That is why this has begun after all.”
Dian sighed at the report. Because it was exactly as he had known, he became more worried.
But at the same time, this was a natural occurrence. The transcendent energy that spread to the entire Cerulean Planet, which was Ether, made the beast receive spirituality and gain more intelligence. Not just beasts but also plants and even inanimate objects.
The battle for supremacy and hegemony was naturally going to occur sooner or later. Fortunately, he had reinforced the space of the Cerulean Planet; otherwise, the damage would be a hundred times worse than it currently was.
“Report!” all of a sudden, Frie came toward Dian’s throne.
“Is it about the rampaging beasts and plants?” Dian asked with an exasperated tone.
“You realize just how much destruction this cause and yet you still do not act?” Frie questioned Dian.
“It means that this is a natural process,” Ghylea answered even before Dian gave one.
Frie turned to look at Ghylea.
“What do you know about natural processes? You only keep watching over your race in the Undead Secret Realm so how do you know whether it is natural or not?” Frie asked with a concerned tone.
“Because the Undead Secret Realm has undergone exactly that. Well, the Undead beast has undergone that process so I know how devastating it is to the environment.” Ghylea answered with certainty.
“But this one’s different. If they still don’t know their limit, then the entire ecosystem would be destroyed mostly and the recovery will take even longer!” Frie said.
“Then how about this? We just need to make them know who is the strongest, right? Then we will make the platform that will make them realize who is the strongest in both land and sea.” Dian said.
“A tournament to make them realize who among them is best suited to gain the title of the strongest. How’s that?” Dian added.
“What am I missing here?” Chikara suddenly came to the space and felt like a discussion had taken place.
“Nothing much. Just trying to contain a battle for supremacy.” Dian replied with a smile.
“Oh! Are you trying to make some sort of tournament for that?” Chikara excitedly asked.
“Ah, you heard that part. Yes. We should formalize the tournament since things will escalate further if left unchecked.” Dian complemented the information.
“Planet Spirit. Send a message to all the beasts and nymphs. Tell them that I will make a tournament to decide who is the strongest and so that they know their own position in the great wilderness.” Dian said.
“Yes, Master.” The Planet Spirit nodded and disappeared to the area where the battles were rampant and informed the beasts and nymphs about the tournament to decide which was stronger.
“Well, do you want to watch it?” Dian asked in a loud voice since this matter involved the change in the mother planet.
“I want to.” Smirth was the first one to agree.
“I pass. I still need to watch over the Ghowul Planet.” Chikara said while sighing helplessly.
“Let me join in.” Asta said.
“I can use some entertainment to gain inspiration.” Leif replied with a grin.
Some were busy with their assigned planets, but those who were free decided to watch the tournament.
On the Cerulean Planet, there were several areas where the wilderness was untouched by humans or the other races. These areas became the home ground of the beasts and the nymphs.
At the moment where the large-scale wars between them reached the peak, a golden light appeared from the sky.
The Planet Spirit divided herself and spread to both land and sea to pronounce the decree from Dian and the others regarding the tournament.
The Planet Spirit faces was similar, filled with dignity and coldness very different when she was meeting with Dian.
“Rather than doing these kinds of destructive behaviors, the Father God has decided to make a tournament of power for you guys.” The Planet Spirit said with coldness in her tone.
The entire beasts and nymphs who was ready to clash stopped their current action and looked up at the sky, at the Planet Spirit.
To them, the Planet Spirit was the closest being to them other than Dian so they decided to listen in to what she had to say.
“Tournament? Do you mean like those being done by the civilization?” a Sovereign Beast asked. It was the very Tyrannosaurus who had undergone transformation and its forelimbs now developed well enough to walk on four limbs. Its body also became larger, and it became one of the Sovereign Beasts.
The Planet Spirit looked at this Sovereign Beast with indifference and replied, “Yes. This is done because your current action will seriously damage the planet's environment. To prevent further damage and to decide who is stronger and weaker, I, on behalf of the Father God and the other deities, decided to organize a tournament of power.
“All of the beasts and nymphs who are confident in their power can participate. There is no limit to the number of participants, but it would be better if you are strong, as strong as a Sovereign Beast or a Thearch Nymph.”
All the beasts and nymphs who heard that became excited. Finally, there was a formal event to decide their rankings in the wilderness. Those who felt strong would definitely attend the tournament of power.
“So how do we know if we want to participate or not?” a Thearch Nymph asked. She was a hundred-year-old tree and had the capability to battle against many opponents at once.
“Simple. There will be a white portal in front of you tomorrow right at this hour. Those who want to participate can enter it to register. But remember this: death there is real death, and I and the deities will not be responsible for the consequences you take yourself. So if you know you are weak, then don’t enter the portal.” The Planet Spirit’s voice reverberated throughout the wilderness.
“Remind the others not to lightly enter the white portal. As for my elite beasts and me, of course we will partake in this tournament of power.” The Tyrannosaurus Rex knew that his strength was great after getting the enhancement of the transcendent energy.
Not just the Tyrannosaurus Rex but the other Sovereign Beasts and the Thearch Nymph were also clamoring to participate in the tournament.
“Since I proclaim this in the name of the Father God, then you should realize to cease your fighting right now and wait until tomorrow when you are inside the portal.” The Planet Spirit said.
“If there is nothing else, then I will take my leave.” The Planet Spirit then remerged with all her clones and then went to the special space prepared for the tournament.
“Esteemed spirit, please rest assured that we will cease our fight now and wait until the entry to the portal to fight.” Every single beast and nymph was saying this.
Dian and the others who were available were creating a special space for the tournament of power.
The location was actually near the Cerulean Planet, in the area closer to the Red Moon, actually. For the special space, it was reinforced with spatial layers and constructed in a way to prevent large-scale damage.
The white portal led the beasts and nymphs to this place and, wonderfully, only consumed a meager amount of energy points.
The special space was then filled with the rectangular platform that served as the tournament ground. The area was large enough to accommodate as many budding Sovereign Beasts and Thearch Nymphs as possible.
“Now with this, we can start the tournament of power. The best of which will become the strongest Sovereign Beast and the Thearch Nymph." Dian commented.
“All preparations are complete. Shall we watch over the tournament?” Leif stepped forward and asked.
“Yes. Those who are quite free will be overseeing the tournament.” Dian nodded and said this as a reminder.
And with that, the curtain to the tournament of power began.
